Representative Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Bizri issued a warning via the “X” platform about developments he described as worrying in the current influenza wave, pointing to mutations that occurred in the composition of three viruses, in addition to monitoring a new strain of the “H1N1” virus characterized by its rapid spread, which began spreading since last August.
Al-Bizri pointed out that these epidemiological data coincide with the delayed arrival of seasonal influenza vaccines to the market. He called on citizens to communicate with their doctors to secure the available vaccine, and to adhere to the necessary preventive measures to reduce infection rates.
He stressed the extreme importance of the vaccination step in dealing with the serious complications of the disease, explaining that the vaccine, although it does not completely prevent infection, is an effective means of alleviating the severity of symptoms and health complications.
These warnings come within the framework of a general call issued by Al-Bizri to deal with caution and seriously with the developments that characterize the influenza season this year, with the importance of adopting prevention and vaccination under direct medical supervision.
