It is expected that the first iPad mini with an OLED screen will be launched next year, and this is its expected price

On Monday, Apple unveiled the new generation of its iPad mini 8 tablet computer, which is the first version of its kind equipped with an OLED screen, amid a noticeable increase in price compared to previous versions.

According to a report by the “MacRumors” website, which specializes in technology news, viewed by “Al Arabiya Business”, the price of the new model – which comes with a basic storage capacity of 128 GB – starts at $699, recording an increase of $100 (17%) compared to the price of the previous model, which amounted to $599.

This stability in storage capacity means that the recent increase, estimated at $100, is not matched by a doubling of space as happened previously, but rather the user in return gets a technical upgrade represented by moving from “LCD” screens to “OLED” screens. Likewise, the prices of models that support Wi-Fi and cellular networks also increased by $100, rising from $749 to $849.

It is noteworthy that the previous generation iPad Mini maintained its price of $499 until 2024, before Apple was forced to raise the starting price to $599 earlier this year, in light of a wave of wide increases that affected the company’s products as a result of the memory and chip shortage crisis. Although the new price witnessed an increase, it was lower than the expectations raised earlier this month, which suggested that the price of the version equipped with an “OLED” screen would increase by $200 compared to the current model.
