Today, Monday, Lebanon is experiencing deceptive weather stability that carries with it signs of radical change, as a partly cloudy atmosphere prevails, accompanied by the formation of dense fog over the mountain highlands. Despite the relative calm that characterizes the coastal daylight hours, forecasts indicate the beginning of a gradual shift in the afternoon in the Lebanese interior, with the possibility of scattered rain falling, concentrated specifically in the southeastern outskirts of the country, and may sometimes be accompanied by flashes of lightning and thundershowers that herald the approach of cold air masses and a new air depression that will completely change the weather landscape.
In the details of the heat map, which records a clear difference between regions, the coastal averages today range between 21 and 29 degrees Celsius, while the capital Beirut records between 22 and 26 degrees, and the numbers for Tripoli and Tire are close, ranging between 18 and 29 degrees. As for the highlands, the weather tends to be cold with temperatures ranging between 12 and 25 degrees, with low numbers recorded in Qurtuba and Bissur, while the interior regions, specifically Zahle, maintain averages ranging between 15 and 29 degrees. These transitional weather conditions are accompanied by northwesterly to northeasterly winds blowing at a speed of up to 35 kilometers per hour, and a wavy sea with a surface temperature of 27 degrees, amid a noticeable decline in mountain visibility due to the density of autumn fog.
As tomorrow, Tuesday, dawns, the weather will completely abandon its stability, entering Lebanon into the heart of a volatile and stormy depression. Temperatures are recording a significant drop, most notably in the mountains and inland areas. The sky turns into a scene of sharp fluctuations represented by scattered rains interspersed with successive thunderstorms, amid serious warnings of intensifying heavy precipitation in the regions of northern Lebanon, which may be accompanied by the risk of heavy hail showers.
This stormy scene does not stop there, as the effect of the cold masses extends strongly throughout Wednesday and Thursday, imposing rainy and winter weather par excellence. Temperatures continue their noticeable declining trend, accompanied by scattered rains that become heavy in some periods, in addition to active winds that increase the feeling of coldness and raise the level of sea waves, so that this weather system announces the start of a volatile phase that imposes its wet and cold rhythm on all Lebanese lands until the end of the week.
