An urgent warning to evacuate Bara'shit, and attention is awaiting the source of the call

A state of intense anticipation prevailed in the southern town of Baraashit, today, Tuesday, after a citizen received a mysterious phone call that included a warning to evacuate his house located below the Social Affairs Center, which prompted the local and security authorities to take immediate action.

The municipality of Baraashit issued a statement in which it explained that, upon receiving the report, it began coordination with the Lebanese army to determine the circumstances of the communication and verify its seriousness. The army, in turn, took the necessary measures and communicated with the Cessation of Hostilities Monitoring Committee (Mechanism), to confirm whether the communication came from the Israeli side and represented an actual threat.

In a precautionary step, the municipality blocked the road leading to the targeted site, in parallel with the evacuation of the house in question and the homes surrounding it, in order to ward off any potential dangers and preserve the safety of civilians.

The municipality confirmed that it continues to closely monitor the situation in coordination with the competent authorities, awaiting the results of the official “Mechanisms” Committee’s responses to take appropriate steps based on the upcoming data.

In conclusion, the municipality urged people to obtain information exclusively from its official channels, and to stay away from circulating rumors and inaccurate news, pledging to inform public opinion of developments with full transparency and responsibility as soon as any reliable data becomes available.

This incident comes in the context of a very tense field security scene in southern Lebanon, coinciding with a series of Israeli raids and bombings that targeted several towns during the past hours, which doubled the level of caution and vigilance among the people and the official authorities regarding any threats or suspicious communications.
