Al-Hikma Club Beirut presented a loyalty shield to the President of the Arab Basketball Federation, Major General Ismail Al-Gergawi, represented by the team’s shirt bearing the number “1”, in appreciation of his pivotal role in supporting the Arab basketball process and his continuous efforts in developing the game.
The honoring ceremony took place during the break between the two halves of the match that brought together Al-Hikma and Al-Markazia, Jounieh, on Monday evening, in the semi-finals of the thirty-eighth edition of the Arab Clubs Basketball Championship in Ghazir. This initiative was coordinated by MP Jihad Pakradouni, honorary president of the Al-Hikma Club, and lawyer Ragheb Haddad, president of the club.
This gesture comes in celebration of Major General Al Gergawi’s visit to Lebanon after an absence of 15 years, and in honor of his contributions in serving Arab sports. This festive atmosphere coincided with the success of Al-Hikma Club in reserving its place in the final match of the tournament, after defeating Central Jounieh with a score of 100-84.
