The “Jounieh Central” team suffered its second loss in the 38th Arab Club Basketball Championship, hosted by “Al-Hikma Beirut” Club at the Sports Club Stadium in Ghazir, after falling by one point with a score of (93-94) to the Syrian “Al-Ahly Al-Halabi Union” in the match that was held this afternoon.
This defeat comes less than 24 hours after “Al-Markazia” lost by the same result and by one point to “Al-Hikma Beirut” (80-81) last Tuesday evening.
With this valuable victory, the Syrian team took a big step towards securing second place in Group Four, awaiting its decisive and anticipated match against Al-Rayyan of Qatar next Friday.
The confrontation witnessed a purely Lebanese training struggle on the bench, bringing together the “Central” coach, George Geagea, and the “Al-Ahly Aleppo Union” coach, Jad Al-Hajj.
In the same context, today’s matches will conclude with a match between “Al-Hikma Beirut” and “Al-Rayyan” Qatar in the championship competitions.
