In the context of the ongoing field escalation in southern Lebanon, the “Lebanon Debate” correspondent reported that an Israeli force consisting of armored vehicles and infantry elements advanced, at dawn today, from Ruwaisat Al-Alam Hill towards Shmeis Hill, where it is currently stationed.
In the details of the military movement, the force, which included two “Merkava” tanks and about 30 infantrymen, advanced, taking a dirt road towards “Shaab Al-Hafour” east of the area, before continuing its path and positioning itself in Tallet Al-Shumays, east of the town.
This ground incursion coincided with a massive wave of Israeli bombing and attacks that affected several areas in the south since the dawn hours. Artillery shelling targeted the town of Nabatieh Al-Fawqa and the surroundings of the towns of Mifdoun and Zawtar Al-Sharqiya.
The area also witnessed sweeping operations with machine guns towards the town of Kafr Tibnit, coinciding with a raid carried out by an Israeli drone targeting the vicinity of the town itself.
The Israeli artillery shelling previously targeted the valleys of Zabqin, Saluki, and Al-Hujair, in addition to the Al-Arayesh area in the town of Haris, in light of the continuing field tension and the expansion of the scope of raids, shelling, and military movements in various regions of the south.
