Atletico Madrid clinched the summit of the Spanish Football League by defeating its guest, Real Madrid, by two goals to one, in the match that was held today, Sunday, at the “Metropolitano” stadium.

In the 89th minute, Real Madrid tried to get back into the atmosphere of the match when Antonio Rudiger reduced the difference with a perfect header following a free kick, but this goal came too late and did not prevent the hosts from winning the three points.
With this victory, Atletico Madrid rose to second place in the Spanish League standings with 16 points, five points behind leaders Barcelona, and one point ahead of both Real Madrid and Real Betis.
