US President Donald Trump has raised the ceiling on escalation towards Iran, announcing that Washington will launch additional attacks, while stressing at the same time that it is not currently seeking an agreement with Tehran, while keeping the door to negotiations open at a later stage.
Trump said that his country “will launch additional attacks against Iran,” adding that he believes that the war will end immediately after the US midterm elections, because, according to him, Tehran is trying to influence the vote.
Trump stressed that the United States is not currently seeking an agreement with Iran, but indicated that negotiations may take place later.
Regarding the Ukraine file, Trump said that his contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin was good, and that the latter wanted to reach an agreement on the war in Ukraine.
He added that Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are “tired of fighting,” considering that they could hold a bilateral meeting.
On the economic front, Trump expected oil prices to fall significantly after the US midterm elections.
As for the West Bank and settlements, he announced that he would talk to the Israelis about the sanctions related to this file.
