Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Storhe revealed on Wednesday that a plane carrying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Oslo was almost hit by a drone during takeoff from Moldova, without providing additional details about the incident.

Storre told Norwegian public broadcaster NRK that Zelensky’s flight “was almost hit by a drone upon taking off from Moldova,” adding that this reflects “the reality that the Ukrainian president lives in.”

Zelensky arrived in Oslo on Tuesday evening to participate in the funeral of King Harald V, which was held on Wednesday, in the presence of a number of senior foreign officials.

While in Norway, Zelensky held talks with Norwegian officials that discussed military aid that Oslo might provide to Kiev, including air defense support, in addition to civilian aid.

The Ukrainian President left Norway after the funeral ceremony, heading to Canada for talks, according to what the Norwegian Prime Minister announced.
