The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced on Wednesday that the Houthis renewed their attacks on a number of cities in southern Saudi Arabia using ballistic missiles and drones.
Coalition Forces spokesman, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, said that the attacks targeted Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Jazan with a number of ballistic missiles and drones.
Al-Maliki added that the leadership of the joint forces of the coalition will deal with the attacks to protect the Kingdom’s sovereignty, national capabilities, civilians and civilian objects, in accordance with the principle of self-defense and in accordance with international law and Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.
On Tuesday, the regions of southern Saudi Arabia were subjected to attacks that affected civilian objects and energy facilities, and caused fires to break out in a number of sites, which led to a temporary cessation of some operational operations, while the specialized teams worked to contain the fires, secure the sites, and assess the damage.
Saudi Arabia said that the attacks targeting Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jizan and Najran resulted in the injury of 73 civilians, including women and children.
The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom’s right to take the necessary measures to defend its sovereignty and the security of its citizens and residents of its lands, noting that the attacks coincided with the Houthis targeting commercial ships in the Red Sea.
Arab, Islamic and international condemnations were also issued for the attacks that targeted areas in southern Saudi Arabia.
