The Internal Security Forces revealed the size of the areas affected by fire in Tannourine, after members of the Tannourine faction participated in the operations to extinguish the fire that broke out today, August 24, 2026, in the locality of Ain Al-Rahah – Al-Fawwar, amid the difficulty imposed by the ruggedness of the area.
The elements participated in the extinguishing operations alongside the civil defense teams, with the support of a military helicopter belonging to the Lebanese army, due to the difficulty of firefighting teams and vehicles reaching the area.
Security forces estimated the area of the burned land at about 10,000 square meters, most of which was wild and forest trees.
The security forces accompanied their post with a video documenting the fire and the tasks carried out by the elements during their participation in the extinguishing operations.
This comes in the context of the widespread fire that took place in the outskirts of Batroun and Tannourine today, and required the participation of civil defense teams and Lebanese army helicopters, amid efforts to contain the fire and prevent its expansion, especially in light of the rugged terrain.
The investigation is still ongoing under the supervision of the competent judiciary to determine the circumstances of the fire.
