The South African Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton Mackenzie, announced that “Titi” was subjected to an armed ambush carried out by two masked men while he was waiting for the gate to his house to open. They shot him inside his car, killing him instantly. A woman who was with him was also seriously injured and was taken to the hospital.
It is noteworthy that “Titi” was one of the most prominent South African boxers, as he achieved a distinguished career during which he was crowned the flyweight world champion in 2007, and the bantamweight world champion in 2017 and 2019, before this crime put an end to his career and life.
