The death toll from the explosion in the town of Mifdoun in Nabatieh district rose to two martyrs and two wounded, in an incident that brought to the fore the dangers of unexploded objects and ordnance spread in a number of affected southern areas.
The Lebanon Debate correspondent reported that Ali Abbas Rayhan, a resident of the town of Adshit, and Ali Mortada Hassan Saeed, known as “Rameh,” from the town of Al-Qasiba, were martyred as a result of the explosion.

In detail, the explosion occurred as a result of a combination of explosive devices placed by Israel near the berm between the towns of Mifdoun and Zawtar al-Sharqiya, when the four young men were in the area in a tuk-tuk and a motorcycle, during their tour of the area.
The explosion resulted in the death of the two young men and the wounding of two other people, while the ambulance teams of the Civil Defense, the Islamic Message Scouts ambulance, and the Islamic Health Authority worked to transport the bodies of the two martyrs and the wounded to Nabatieh hospitals.
The Department of Information and Public Relations at the General Directorate of Lebanese Civil Defense had announced, in a previous statement, that the explosion of a foreign object in a “tuk-tuk” type vehicle in the town of Mifdoun resulted in the death of one person and the wounding of 3 others.
The statement added that civil defense personnel worked to transport the body of the martyr and one of the wounded, while the Islamic Health Authority took the other two wounded to the hospital.
The incident comes at a time when the specialized army units continue the work of removing unexploded ordnance in the affected areas in the south.
On July 5, the Army Command announced the dismantling of 4 unexploded aerial bombs in the towns of Mifidoun, Baraashit, Kfardounin, and Shaqra, and transporting them to a safe location, renewing its call on citizens to be cautious and not to approach any suspicious object and to report it to the nearest military center.
