Moroccan international player Hakim Ziyech, a player for the Qatari club Al-Duhail, deactivated his official accounts on social media platforms, following a severe attack and threats of prosecution launched by Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir.
The Israeli minister’s position came in response to posts by Sheikh and Ziyash on his Instagram account, in which he expressed his solidarity with the Palestinian people and his denunciation of the current events in Gaza and the Israeli army attacks, which prompted Ben Gvir to demand that he be held accountable.
This measure comes from Ziyech to protect his privacy and limit the campaigns directed against him, avoiding digital escalation while continuing his positions in support of the Palestinian cause, which sparked widespread interaction among his fans and followers.
