The President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, held a series of meetings with the leaders of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Aoun sparked with the Prime Minister of Ireland, Michael Martin, the situation in southern Lebanon in light of the continued Israeli attacks, the most recent of which is Majra Bint Jbeil, stressing the need to stop these attacks, and thank Ireland her participation in the “UNIFIL forces”.

In turn, the President of the Republic of Slovakia Peter Pellegrini assured President Aoun’s readiness to help Lebanon in the social, humanitarian and health fields, addressed to him to visit Slovakia with the aim of enhancing coordination between the two countries in various sectors.
For his part, President Aoun presented with Pellegrini the situation in the south, stressing the need for the Syrian displaced to return to their country and provide them with aid inside Syria.

In addition, Aoun stressed to the President of Finland Alexander Stap on the role played by the army south of the Litani River in the context of implementing Resolution 1701, pointing out that Israel is hindering the completion of its spread due to its continued occupation of the hills and its continuation of hostilities against the southern villages and civilians, noting that the government is continuing to implement the decision to limit the weapon gradually.

Also, Aoun assured the Prime Minister of Luxembourg Luke Feriden that Israel cannot continue its aggressive policy, because it threatens peace and stability in the entire Middle East, and puts the international community in front of a direct challenge to respect its decisions in support of peace and stability in the world.
