No salary correction .. The government approves the 2026 budget

The Council of Ministers approved, today, Monday, the budget for the year 2026, announcing that any salary and wage correction for all workers and retirees in the public sector.
The budget was approved by the ministers’ consensus, and the decisions indicated that the 2026 budget does not aim to increase tax rates or impose new taxes, but rather to activate the tax commitment and estimate imports in an accurate way.
The decisions pointed out that the budget sought to secure revenues for all tunnels in order to avoid a deficit.
In addition, press information said that the budget maintained zero deficit and did not notice new taxes, noting that “the budget focused on improving the collection and controlling customs evasion.”
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam had chaired the session in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Mitri and the Ministers of Finance Yassin Jaber, Culture Ghassan Salama, Defense Major General Michel Mansi, Energy and Water Joe Sadi, Tourism Laura Al -Khazen, Social Affairs Hanin Al -Sayed, Economy and Trade Amer Al -Bassat, Displaced and IT and Artificial Intelligence Affairs Kamal Shehadeh, Interior and Municipalities, Brigadier General Ahmed Al -Hajjar, Adel Adel Nassar, Communications C.
The Council of Ministers started its session by standing a minute of silence on the souls of Shahn.
