In light of the escalation of tension on the southern front, Israeli media reports revealed that warning messages had been sent to the Donald Trump administration, against the backdrop of the way it dealt with Hezbollah, warning of the erosion of what it described as its “deterrence force.”
Israeli Channel 12 reported that Tel Aviv informed the White House that continuing limited operations against Hezbollah, in light of American restrictions, was no longer sufficient, demanding that a time frame be set for negotiations with Lebanon that does not exceed mid-May.
In parallel, the Israeli army spokesman sent direct messages to the residents of southern Lebanon, warning them of Hezbollah’s activity inside the villages, calling for non-cooperation with it, considering that it was causing additional destruction in the region.
He also stressed that the party continues, according to him, to establish military infrastructure near civilian facilities, to carry out operations against the Israeli army, stressing that the ceasefire “does not grant immunity,” and that the army will move “forcefully” when needed.
On the ground, data indicate that the Israeli army carried out massive bombings in the city of Bint Jbeil, in light of the continuation of military operations, while Lebanese sources indicate that operations to blow up homes and facilities in the city are continuing.
In the same context, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had declared that the Lebanese were “victims of Hezbollah,” noting that there was an agreement between Lebanon and Israel on the party’s demise, and considering that the two countries were seeking peace.
