The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on its official website that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone call with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, to discuss the effects of the American and Israeli military assault on the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to the widespread Israeli attacks in Lebanon.
During the call, Araqchi provided a detailed explanation of the latest developments related to the US-Israeli aggression against Iran, and the responses made by the Iranian armed forces, which he described as “legitimate and decisive,” and praised the firm positions of the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament in his support of national unity.
Araqchi also reaffirmed his country’s support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and emphasized the importance of preserving and strengthening internal unity to confront what he called external plots targeting Lebanon.
For his part, Speaker Berri presented the latest developments in the Israeli attacks on Lebanon and their effects, considering that their goal is to destroy basic infrastructure and forcibly displace Lebanese citizens from their areas.
At the conclusion of the call, the two parties agreed on the importance of strengthening and developing bilateral relations between the two countries, in light of the rapid changes taking place in the Lebanese and regional arenas.
