US President Donald Trump announced that Iran’s leaders are “evaporating quickly,” stressing that everyone who seeks to gain power in Iran will eventually die, and pointed to progress in the ongoing military operations.
“I think I can say, and you can see for yourselves, that we have seen tremendous progress. We are doing very well militarily, that’s the least that can be said,” Trump said during a roundtable meeting held at the White House to discuss military action against Iran.
This announcement comes in light of Iran launching attacks on American and Israeli military sites, in response to an American-Israeli attack that began on February 28, and resulted in the martyrdom of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and about a thousand people, including female students at Qadhin School, as a result of a bombing that occurred on the first day of the war.
On the other hand, Washington and Tel Aviv assert that the operation was proactive due to what they call the Iranian nuclear threat, with public statements indicating a desire to change power in Tehran.
