Informed sources revealed Samsung’s plans to launch a new foldable phone under the name “Galaxy Z Wide Fold,” and it is expected to be revealed this summer in conjunction with the announcement of the “Galaxy Z Fold 8” and “Galaxy Z Flip 8.”
This development comes at a time when the company’s efforts are currently focused on launching the Galaxy S26 series, while attention is gradually turning towards the next generation of foldable phones.
The leaks reveal that the initial beta versions of the “One UI 9” user interface included a device with the code name “H8”, accompanied by illustrative images showing the phone in light and dark modes.
According to these images, it appears that the phone will come with a design similar to the book, but it features a larger display compared to the traditional “Galaxy Z Fold” phone, which is in line with the unofficial name.
So far, the renders do not show details of the rear camera system, making it difficult to identify any fundamental changes in this aspect.
However, there is no indication that Samsung will deviate from the design language currently adopted in its foldable phone series.
Leaks indicate that the phone will have a 5.4-inch external screen and a 7.6-inch internal screen, making it similar to the expected dimensions of Apple’s foldable phone, whose internal screen is believed to be 7.58 inches.
If Samsung launches this phone in July 2026, it may have a competitive advantage in the wide-screen phone market before the expected arrival of Apple’s device next fall.
