Israeli fighter jets intercept an air target over the south amid the absence of warning sirens

The Israeli army announced, through its spokeswoman for the Arab media, Lieutenant Colonel Ella Wawiyeh, that it had launched an interceptor missile towards a “suspicious” air target that was spotted in the Israeli forces’ area of operations in southern Lebanon, indicating that the sirens had not been activated in line with the approved policy.

This announcement comes in light of the ongoing field escalation taking place in southern Lebanon, where several areas were subjected to a series of air strikes and artillery shelling on Sunday. The raids included the outskirts of the towns of Baraashit and Aitaroun, in addition to the town of Talusah, while an Israeli quadcopter drone targeted the roof of a building in the Al-Rajm neighborhood in the town of Mifidoun.

On the evening of the same day, Wadi Zabqin and the town of Al-Mansouri were subjected to violent artillery shelling, coinciding with the sound of the explosion of an interceptor missile in the airspace of the town of Qantara, coinciding with the Israeli announcement of monitoring the suspicious air target in the area.

These developments reflect the continuation of Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon despite diplomatic efforts aimed at stabilizing the calm, which keeps the field scene open to various possibilities of escalation amid the succession of raids, bombardments, and air movements in the southern sector.
