Ertugrul Dogan, president of the Turkish Trabzonspor club, revealed the secret behind Egyptian star Mohamed Salah’s agreement to move to the team during the last summer transfer period, stressing that the financial aspects were not the decisive factor in completing the deal.
Dogan explained, in statements reported by the Turkish website “61saat”, that Salah inquired at the beginning of the negotiations about the reasons for the club’s desire to sign a contract with him, before the management succeeded in convincing him of the extent of the love and appreciation that he would receive from the team’s fans, adding that the public atmosphere and warm anticipation in the city, for example, was the main factor in deciding the decision, despite the acknowledgment that a deal of Salah’s size would require a huge financial investment.
The club president confirmed that the Egyptian star and his family have been living in a state of stability and happiness since their arrival in Türkiye, praising the great role played by the player and his positive contributions, whether inside or outside the green rectangle.
On the sporting level, Salah tops the list of top scorers in the Turkish League with 8 goals, in addition to providing 3 assists, bringing his total scoring contributions to 11 goals since the start of the current season.
In the same context, the Trabzonspor team is preparing to play an upcoming confrontation against its Scottish guest, Hearts, next Thursday, for the second round of the league stage in the European Conference League.
