French League matches postponed due to the Yellow Vest protests

The match between the Toulouse and Troyes teams in the French Football League was postponed, against the backdrop of widespread protests led by the “yellow vest” movement, according to what was reported by the “RMC Sport” website.

The meeting was scheduled to take place on October 24, before the concerned authorities decided to postpone its date to the next day, October 25, due to security tensions.

During the current month of October, France is witnessing a wave of unrest that is considered the worst in years. It broke out in protest against the rise in prices and the decline in the level of public services, and resulted in the arrest of thousands of people and the exposure of many stores to looting and vandalism.

In the wake of these events, the French authorities imposed a nightly curfew in parts of the city of Toulouse, and it is scheduled to continue until next Sunday.

The repercussions of the protests were not limited to the street, but also extended to football clubs. Last Monday, Olympique Marseille and Lille announced that their official stores had been subjected to looting and vandalism amid the riots.
