Gebran Bassil recalls the memory of Danny Chamoun, warning that... "Treachery does not erase the truth"

Recalling the anniversary of the assassination of Danny Chamoun, the head of the “Free Patriotic Movement,” MP Gebran Bassil, confirmed that Chamoun “was assassinated because he was free and daring,” stressing that this crime represents a condemnation of its perpetrators and those who resort to violence with the aim of eliminating others and dominating others.

In his post on the “X” platform, Bassil indicated that the assassination “reminds us of the tendency to monopolize the Christian arena and reject any partner or competitor,” in a clear reference to attempts to exclude other parties and impose political unilateralism within the Christian environment.

Bassil concluded by saying: “Treachery assassinates people, but it does not erase the truth of the killer or erase the memory,” stressing that “Dani Chamoun remains in the conscience and in history.”
