Sadi reveals the fruit of cooperation with Qatar to solve the electricity crisis in a sustainable manner

The Minister of Energy and Water, Joe Seddi, announced that cooperation with the State of Qatar in the electricity file has entered a new phase, represented by the launch of an integrated approach to building and operating electrical infrastructure in Lebanon, which lays the foundation for a sustainable solution for the sector in the medium and long term.

In a post on the “X” platform, Sadi confirmed that this announcement comes “the culmination of a diligent work process that we began with the State of Qatar months ago,” indicating that the two sides will continue joint work to complete the remaining steps during the next stage.

Regarding the current crisis, the Minister of Energy stressed that addressing it “remains the responsibility of the combined government,” calling for the necessity of responding to the ministry’s efforts by paying the due public sector bills, compensating for exemptions from the south, and approving a moving tariff.

Sadi pointed out that these steps aim primarily to secure fuel, ensure the continuity and increase of electrical supply, and reduce the financial burden on citizens during the coming months.
