Prime Minister Nawaf Salam renewed Lebanon’s position of support and full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the face of renewed threats from the Houthi group aimed at targeting Saudi airports and airspace.
Salam affirmed, in a statement published on his account on the “X” platform, that Beirut stands by the Kingdom in all the measures it takes to defend itself, protect its people, and preserve its security and sovereignty, stressing that these threats represent a serious destabilization of the security and stability of the entire region.
Salam pointed out that the recent Houthi escalation, which follows the attack that targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and which Lebanon previously condemned in the strongest terms, reveals the group’s insistence on continuing to threaten the security of the sisterly Kingdom.
At the conclusion of his position, the Prime Minister expressed his complete solidarity with the leadership and the Saudi people, offering his deepest condolences to the families of the innocent victims, and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.
