Google is preparing to officially announce, tomorrow, Monday, the details of its new fitness bracelet, “Fitbit Edge,” after a series of extensive leaks that revealed its specifications and expected prices.
According to specialized technical websites, the bracelet will come with a 1.34-inch “AMOLED” screen, within a thin metal body that weighs only 17.7 grams. The “GSMArena” website reported that the device’s battery provides power that lasts up to 7 days in normal use, and decreases to two days when the always-on display feature is activated, with the bracelet being equipped with water and dust resistance standards “5ATM” and “IP68”.
The bracelet provides more than 40 sports modes, supported by a customized training guidance and analysis system based on artificial intelligence technologies. It also includes an integrated system of sensors that include: measuring heart rate, tracking the level of oxygen in the blood, monitoring skin temperature, and monitoring sleep quality, in addition to the feature of detecting heart rhythm pattern disturbances.
In terms of connectivity, the bracelet supports “Bluetooth 5.4” technology, in addition to a built-in global positioning system (GPS) for tracking routes. It is expected that the bracelet will be put on the market at a price ranging between 150 and 200 US dollars.
