English winger Gordon expressed his overwhelming happiness at breaking his goal drought, becoming the ninth player to succeed in scoring for Barcelona this season.
In statements to the “DAZN” network, Gordon confirmed that this goal represents a great morale boost for his career, saying: “This goal is useful for my self-confidence, and I felt the fans’ love while I celebrated it,” pointing to the great support he received from the fans after scoring his first goal.
The player explained that Barcelona’s strong start and topping the standings helped him calmly deal with the delay in scoring, stressing that the team’s interest always remains the priority.
He added: “If the ball does not go into the net, there is no problem; I go to sleep feeling comfortable because I know that the goals will come in the end.” Despite the state of relief at ending a long wait, the English winger stressed the need to maintain the highest levels of focus to continue registering for future eligibility.
