Lebanese MP Fouad Al-Makhzoumi called on the Lebanese government to begin taking the necessary legal measures to classify the Houthi group as a “terrorist organization,” following in the footsteps of a number of countries that have taken the same step.
Al-Makhzoumi explained, in a statement published on his official account on the “X” platform, that this call comes against the backdrop of the continuing attacks targeting the lands of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its airports and civilian facilities, and the resulting casualties and a direct threat to the security and stability of the region.
He stressed that the stage of being satisfied with statements of condemnation and denunciation is beyond time, calling for a firm Arab position and deterrent measures that lead to putting an end to the violations and holding those responsible for them accountable, and moving from “solidarity in words to actual positions and measures.”
In the same context, the Lebanese MP condemned the attacks in the strongest terms, expressing his sincere condolences to the Saudi leadership, the Saudi people, and the families of the victims, and his wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.
Al-Makhzoumi affirmed his complete solidarity with the Kingdom and its legitimate right to defend its security, sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that Saudi Arabia’s security represents a fundamental pillar of Arab national security, and that any violation of it is a threat to the stability of the entire region.
