Aerial targeting in the south: An interceptor missile raises uncertainty about the fate

The Israeli army spokesman announced that his forces fired an interception projectile towards a suspicious air target that was monitored in its area of deployment in southern Lebanon, indicating that the results of the interception operation are still under examination without specifying the nature of the target or its source, or confirming the success of the response operation.

The statement issued by the army explained that no sirens were activated, in line with the policy followed in such cases.

This announcement comes in light of the continuing military escalation, as southern Lebanon witnessed, today, Saturday, Israeli air strikes and artillery shelling, in conjunction with an intense movement of reconnaissance drones that flew at low altitude in the airspace of the south and the Bekaa Valley in the east of the country.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli army had carried out a similar incident on the twenty-fifth of last September, during which it announced the launch of an interceptor missile towards a suspicious air target in its area of deployment in southern Lebanon, without revealing its identity or source at the time.
