Wahhab categorizes the era as:"The era of half men" He compares the lion and the lion

The head of the Arab Tawheed Party, former minister Wiam Wahhab, launched a sharp attack on the current Syrian leadership and President Ahmed al-Sharaa, invoking the legacy of the late Syrian President Hafez al-Assad in a comparison between two different stages of the country’s history.

In a tweet published on the “X” platform today, Wednesday, Wahhab said: “In the month of October, it is shameful to compare Hafez al-Assad, the great strategic leader, and the one who sits in his chair today, Al-Julani, who has surrendered to Netanyahu’s fate, and who holds him tight and humiliates him all day long,” adding, “The time of men has passed, and we have entered the era of half-men.”

Wahhab’s statements came in the context of his harsh criticism of Damascus’s current policy towards Israel, accusing President Ahmed al-Sharaa of submitting to pressure from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

This escalating position comes at a time when Syria is going through a delicate transitional and political phase under the leadership of Al-Sharaa, amid complex regional and internal challenges, especially related to the security files, the southern border, and the relationship with Israel.

This position reflects the ongoing state of division in the Lebanese political scene regarding the rapid transformations in Syria. There is a group that sees the current stage as an opportunity to rebuild the state and arrange the regional cards, and another group that considers that Damascus’s new policies represent a decline in Syria’s regional role and entail fundamental concessions.
