Today, Wednesday, the Israeli army announced the discovery of a tunnel, which it described as one of the largest of its kind in the Shujaiya neighborhood in Gaza City, coinciding with the commemoration of the October 7 attacks.
The army explained that the tunnel extends for a distance of about 500 meters, and its depth ranges between 4 and 14 meters below the surface of the ground, noting that efforts to discover it were carried out as part of the ongoing military operations aimed at destroying the underground infrastructure in the Gaza Strip.
The military statement claimed that the tunnel was used by members of the Hamas movement, pointing out that there were internal rooms designated for the movement’s senior officials, without providing further details about the identity of these officials or the precise nature of these equipment.
