This Friday morning, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam began an extensive field tour in the city of Nabatieh, accompanied by the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmed Al-Hajjar, along with a high-ranking official and security delegation. The visit, which carries security, administrative and development dimensions, comes within the framework of confirming the presence of state institutions and following up on the needs of the city and the southern region in light of the ongoing Israeli tensions and attacks.
The Prime Minister began his tour by visiting the Internal Security Forces complex in the Kfarjouz area, where the first stop was the Nabatieh Gendarmerie Company. During the meeting, Salam paid tribute to the security personnel for their efforts, saying: “We are by your side, we support you, and we know that you are with the people so that they feel safe and secure,” stressing that “the basis for the return of southerners is security and safety in the south.” For his part, the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmed Al-Hajjar, stressed that “the state will always be there alongside the citizens.”
The tour program includes moving to the municipality of Nabatieh to hold a meeting followed by a speech addressed to the people of the city and the south. The visit’s stations also include laying the foundation stone for a new Civil Defense headquarters, visiting the State Security Center, in addition to inspecting the government palaces after the completion of their restoration and rehabilitation work. It is scheduled to be followed by a tour of Nabatieh Market, and the visit will conclude with a meeting with the Imam of Nabatieh in his palace.
These field movements are a continuation of the government’s directions; On September 6, in the wake of Israeli attacks targeting Nabatieh, Salam previously affirmed the state’s commitment to supporting the return of the people, strengthening their steadfastness, and ensuring the continuity of the work of public facilities to meet the needs of the citizens.
Today’s visit carries very important political and service messages, focusing on strengthening the presence of state institutions with all their security and administrative agencies in the southern region, and activating work on development and service files in the city of Nabatieh and its environs.
