The head of the Lebanese Phalange Party, MP Sami Gemayel, decided on his position rejecting any future discussion about Hezbollah’s weapons, stressing that handing over weapons must precede any national dialogue process.
In a tweet posted on his official account on the “X” platform, Gemayel said: “The time for dialogue about Hezbollah’s weapons has ended. This weapon is no longer a negotiating card, but rather a settled issue. There is no weapon outside the state and no authority above the authority of the state.”
He added, confirming his party’s position: “We are people of dialogue, but there is no dialogue until we hand over weapons.” He concluded his statement by saying: “Have mercy on those on earth and those in heaven will have mercy on you.”
