Since dawn today, the regions of southern Lebanon have witnessed a new wave of intense Israeli attacks, which included air strikes and artillery shelling that targeted a number of towns, in an extension of the ongoing field escalation.
According to the “Lebanon Debate” correspondent, the Israeli warplanes launched, the day after two o’clock in the morning, a series of air strikes targeting the town of Kafr Tibnit and the surroundings of the town of Mifdoun and the town of Nabatieh Al-Fawqa. This coincided with continuous artillery shelling until five-thirty in the morning, targeting the Doha Kafr Rumman area, Wadi al-Saluki on the Toulin side, and the outer outskirts of Mifdoun.
This escalation comes as an extension of the aggressive actions recorded yesterday, which included bombing operations in both the town of Mays al-Jabal and Masha` al-Mansouri, in addition to sweeping operations with machine guns towards the town of Qantara, and violent artillery shelling that targeted the outskirts of the town of Baraashit and Wadi al-Saluki.
Israeli air strikes also targeted the outskirts of the towns of Al-Khiam and Al-Mansouri, in addition to targeting the Shanouh farm located south of Kfar Shuba with an air strike.
In a remarkable development on the ground, an Israeli force, including about 4 to 5 vehicles, penetrated towards the outskirts of the town of Halta in Kafr Shuba. This included sweeping operations with machine guns and the firing of flares, in parallel with continued attacks on various areas of the south until the early hours of the morning.
