French national team captain Kylian Mbappe suffered an injury to his left knee that led to his replacement, moments after he opened the scoring against Türkiye, on Friday evening, in the European Nations League competitions.
Mbalbe’s goal, the Spanish Real Madrid striker, came in the 54th minute after receiving a pass from his colleague Michael Olise, after which he shot the ball with his right foot to deceive Turkish goalkeeper Ugurcan Çakir. Despite scoring the goal, the celebration disappeared from the face of the French star, who began to limp, lying on the field with signs of pain, holding the back of his left knee.
After failed attempts to continue playing, the “Roosters” captain decided to leave the field permanently in the 59th minute, to be replaced by Desiree Doue, while Mbappe headed directly towards the dressing rooms, limping slightly, receiving quick and friendly encouragement from his coach, Zinedine Zidane.
It is noteworthy that the French national team’s schedule awaits three other matches in the same tournament. He will meet his Belgian counterpart on the twenty-eighth of September, then face Italy on the second of October, before renewing his meeting with the “Red Devils” on the fifth of the same month.
