Representative Ibrahim al-Moussawi, a member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, launched a sharp attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against the backdrop of his speech before the United Nations General Assembly in New York, in which he touched on the files of Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran.
Al-Moussawi, in a post on the “X” platform, described Netanyahu’s speech as “genocidal aggression that shows the arrogance of power and an attempt to establish the law of the jungle in its most horrific versions!” Pointing out that it was a speech issued by “a war criminal and genocide in Gaza and Lebanon.”
Netanyahu delivered his speech before the General Assembly on September 24, and his start witnessed the withdrawal of a number of delegates from the meeting hall. During the speech, the Israeli Prime Minister defended his country’s military operations, rejecting the accusations against Israel of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, considering it “the biggest lie of the century.”
Regarding the Lebanese issue, Netanyahu reviewed the “pager” device from the United Nations podium, bragging about the operation that targeted communications devices in Lebanon in September 2024, as he addressed the audience, saying: “Do you remember the pager devices?” As for Iran, Netanyahu stressed that the decision to attack it was “one of the easiest decisions” he made in the context of the ongoing regional confrontations.
The Lebanese response comes one day after Netanyahu’s controversial speech, which sparked a wave of political debates about the repercussions of the ongoing Israeli military escalation in the region.
