Former Minister Wadih Al -Khazen wished the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, “refraining from attending the cabinet session scheduled for next Friday, allocated to discuss the army’s plan on withdrawing weapons from outside the legitimacy, in order to avoid any political interpretation or employment that may increase the severity of the divisions.”
Al -Khazen stressed in a statement that “the presidency of the Republic must remain the umbrella of a university above the differences, and it is more beneficial for the president to play the role of the mediator and the guarantor, to be a link between the various political parties instead of becoming a party to the debate.” Al -Khazen also advised the president, “in close coordination with the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nabih Berri, because of the pillar of a charter and a basic corner in the national equation, to find exits that preserve the civil peace. The National Charter, and prevents the country from slipping into confrontations that no one wants. ”
