“Libyan Dibit” – Abdullah Qamh
He arrived in Beirut a few days ago, Yasser Abbas, the son of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, “Abu Mazen”. “Lebanese and Palestinian sources learned that Abbas had a series of security -political meetings that included Lebanese and Palestinian officials, some of which happened away from the media. The meetings centered mainly on completing the plans aimed at removing (delivery) of the Palestinian weapon from all camps.
During his visit to some references, Abbas collided with a clear resentment expressed by them as a result of the Palestinian delay in adhering to the timeless time that the Palestinian Authority had previously informed to the Lebanese government during the visit of President Mahmoud Abbas to Beirut more than two months ago, where it was scheduled to start “collecting” weapons from Beirut camps on June 16, after which the Palestinian Authority disappeared from hearing as soon as it entered into an internal Palestinian -Palestinian conflicts With the “Leadership of Lebanon Square”, it led to the overthrow of the heads, most notably the Palestinian Ambassador Ashraf Dabour.
In any case, the Lebanese authorities, Abbas, informed that the promises this time must be offered to be a complete commitment on his part, otherwise any violation may cause a political crisis and lack of confidence between the two countries.
After a series of Palestinian -Palestinian consultations and meetings, Yasser Abbas informed the Lebanese authorities yesterday that he had reached an agreement with the “factions”, without specifying any exactly, and it is likely to be under the banner of the Palestine Liberation Organization. According to what Abbas conveyed to the representatives of the Lebanese authorities, the “factions” agreed among themselves to hand over the heavy weapon in the camps gradually. Thursday (today) set a date for the launch of the path, starting with the Burj Al -Barajneh camps in Beirut and “Al -Bass” in Tire.
A security source told “Liban Dibite” that it was agreed to divide the path of delivery of weapons and heavy weapons into three time stages (carried out on a weekly basis starting today):
• The first stage: Al -Barajneh and Al -Bass Tower (South Litani).
• The second stage: Al -Badawi (Al -Shamali) and Al -Rashidiya (South Litani).
• The third and final stage: Ain al -Hilweh, Al -Miyah and Miyah camps (Al -South), in addition to the northern tower (south of Litani).
The Lebanese state dealt with what Yasser Abbas informed it as a specific declaration of executive mechanisms to deliver weapons. So I asked the army to prepare itself and support the mechanisms for transporting weapons after being examined on the ground, provided that the Palestinian party handed over the Muslim weapons regulations, while the army in turn delivers the Palestinian side to identify regulations about what will receive it.
While Abbas stressed that he was able to achieve Palestinian -Palestinian consensus that led to the “limiting heavy weapon” in the hands of the factions by more than 80%, Lebanese sources stressed that “it will not give a final declaration of the nature of the Muslim weapon until after its inspection and confirmation of its validity. This includes the lack of confirmation of the percentage that Abbas spoke about.” She explained that the main issue lies in determining whether the weapon is valid for use and belongs to the arsenal of the factions that are often used in the internal clashes, or whether they are just ancient weapons that have lost their effectiveness and have been stored in the camps for many years.
