The head of the Phalange Party, MP Sami Gemayel, held a meeting in the summer with a delegation from the “Bekaa Industrialists’ Association,” headed by Nicolas Abu Faisal, where the two sides reviewed the obstacles that hinder industrial work in light of the current circumstances, while emphasizing the importance of shifting towards policies that support local production.

In this context, Gemayel renewed his commitment to supporting the Lebanese industry, inspired by the vision of the martyr Minister Pierre Gemayel and his famous slogan, “Love Lebanon…Love its industry,” stressing that restoring the national economy requires a reform environment and an investment climate that protects Lebanese innovators.

For his part, Abu Faisal presented a number of urgent demands included in the assembly round to the political actors, most notably: modernizing the infrastructure, reactivating the railway to connect the Bekaa to Beirut, confronting the scourge of smuggling that is harming the national industry, in addition to creating a free economic zone in the Bekaa to enhance development and competitiveness.
