The Argentine national team reserved its place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup, after achieving an exciting victory over the Egyptian national team with a score of 3-2, in a confrontation that witnessed great fluctuations until the last minutes.

The Egyptian team succeeded in ending the first half with an unanswered goal lead, after defender Yasser Ibrahim opened the scoring in the 15th minute, following a perfect header that went into the Argentine team’s net.

The Argentine team tried to quickly return to the atmosphere of the match, and won a penalty kick that the referee awarded in its favor, but the Egyptian goalkeeper, Mostafa Schubert, excelled in stopping it, to preserve the “Pharaohs” lead at the end of the first half.

In the second half, the Egyptian national team increased its lead with a second goal in the 65th minute by Mostafa Zico, after he put the ball into Argentina’s goal.

But the Argentine national team did not give up, and Cristian Romero was able to reduce the gap and score the equalizer in the 79th minute, before Lionel Messi succeeded in scoring the third goal in the 83rd minute.

In stoppage time, Enzo Fernandez added the fourth goal for Argentina, sealing his country’s qualification to the quarter-finals after winning 3-2.
