He pointed out that “the expected repercussions include an increase in the occupancy rates of hotels and guest houses, especially in Beirut and safe tourist and mountainous areas, the recovery of restaurants, cafes and resorts, the revitalization of the transportation sector, including car rentals, taxis, and tourist transportation services, and an increase in commercial activity in markets and commercial centers.”
He added, “This matter will also enhance the flow of foreign currencies into the Lebanese economy, which will provide support to the service and commercial sectors in light of the current economic challenges. It will also provide seasonal job opportunities in the tourism, hospitality, and related services sectors.”
However, he stressed, on the other hand, that “the tourism sector’s full benefit from this increase in the number of arrivals remains linked to several factors, most notably the continued security stability, the continuity of air traffic, and the ability of tourism institutions to absorb demand and provide services of appropriate quality.”
