Lebanon Debate learned that the security services arrested Omar T., a Palestinian, in the Kfardebian area, in connection with the incident of escaping from a security checkpoint and attempting to run over a traffic police officer in Zalka.
According to “Lebanon Debate” information, the arrested person is the same driver who had sparked a security alert in the Zalka market after he refused to comply with the orders of a traffic police officer and continued on his way, trying to run him over before fleeing the place.
The Zalka Market area witnessed a serious security incident when an Internal Security Forces patrol suspected a car driving suspiciously, and upon trying to stop it, its driver refused to comply with orders, before he hit an officer’s motorcycle and continued his escape.
The car was later found in the Antelias area with gunshot wounds to its rear window and signs of impacts from several sides, while investigations continued to uncover the identity of the driver and arrest him.
With the arrest of Omar T. In Kfardebian, the security services have seized the main suspect in the incident, while investigations are being completed under the supervision of the competent judiciary to uncover the full circumstances and take the necessary legal measures.
