Jose Maria Jiménez, the Uruguayan international defender of Atletico Madrid, raised a wave of questions about his future with the team, after he published during the past hours a message on his Instagram account that seemed to many to be closer to a farewell sign.

According to what was reported by Mundo Deportivo newspaper, Jiménez published a picture of himself from the Metropolitano Stadium celebrating in front of the Atletico Madrid fans, and attached it to a clip of the song “No Es mi despedida” by singer Natalia Orero, which includes striking words that say: “I would like not to say goodbye, but I must leave.”

In the part chosen by the Uruguayan defender, the phrase is also heard: “Please don’t cry, don’t cry, because you will kill me,” which increased the fans’ interpretations about the possibility of his leaving the club at the end of the season.

Jimenez's message sounds like a farewell message: Will he leave Atletico?

Jimenez is considered one of Atletico Madrid’s leaders and one of its most prominent defensive elements, so the post did not pass by normally, especially since it comes at a sensitive time as the season approaches its end.
On Saturday, Atletico Madrid will face Celta at the Metropolitano Stadium, before concluding its season with three more matches, two away from Osasuna and Villarreal, and one at home against Girona.

So far, there has been no official clarification from the player or the club regarding whether the post was merely an emotional message related to the public atmosphere, or a prelude to a larger decision regarding his future.
