Arsenal returned to the Champions League final for the first time in 20 years, after beating its guest, Atletico Madrid, 1-0, in the second leg of the semi-final at the Emirates Stadium in London.
The only goal of the match came from Bukayo Saka in the 44th minute, giving his team a pass after a difficult confrontation for both sides.
With this victory, Arsenal clinched qualification with a score of 2-1 on aggregate, after the first leg ended in a 1-1 draw.
Spanish coach Mikel Arteta’s team will play the final on May 30 at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.
Arsenal awaits the winner of the confrontation between Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, scheduled for Wednesday in Germany, after the first leg ended with PSG winning 5-4.
Arsenal’s last appearance in the Champions League final dates back to the 2005-2006 season, when it lost the title to Barcelona 2-1 at the Stade International de France.
