The Minister of Energy and Water, Joe Al-Sadi, held a tripartite meeting in the Jordanian capital, Amman, with his Jordanian counterpart, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, and his Syrian counterpart, Muhammad Al-Bashir, during which he discussed ways to enhance electrical connectivity and gas exchange between the three countries.

Minister Al-Saddi confirmed in a joint press conference that this cooperation contributes to rebuilding the energy sector in Lebanon on more sustainable and efficient foundations. He pointed out the importance of interconnection and gas projects in securing reliable sources at a lower cost, expressing his optimism that tangible progress will be achieved soon.

For his part, Minister Al-Kharabsheh explained that the technical teams have made great strides in preparing network rehabilitation studies, in preparation for announcing the details soon. He pointed out that the current cooperation includes importing global gas through Jordan and supplying it to Syria via the Arab Gas Pipeline, stressing work to complete similar arrangements with Lebanon as soon as the repair of the networks is completed.

In turn, Minister Al-Bashir announced the success of efforts to rehabilitate parts of the Arab Gas Pipeline, which improved the stability of the network in Syria. He revealed the readiness of a number of electrical interconnection lines with Lebanon, pointing to the progress in projects to transport gas to Lebanon through Syrian territory to enhance electricity production.

The ministers concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing joint technical coordination to achieve regional integration in the energy sector in a way that serves the interests of the three countries.
