Qatari Foreign Ministry: Fake accounts and distorted statements leading a misleading campaign behind the scenes

The State of Qatar officially denied the validity of the circulating statements attributed to the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, regarding the faltering US-Iranian negotiations and the failure of the two countries to reach an agreement. The official Qatari authorities considered that what was circulated constituted a multiple and systematic distortion of the official positions.

In this context, the official spokesman for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid Al-Ansari, confirmed on the “X” platform that the allegations attributed to the Prime Minister are completely baseless, stressing Doha’s categorical rejection of such attempts aimed at misleading public opinion and undermining diplomatic efforts at this sensitive time.

Al-Ansari explained that Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani had clearly confirmed that Washington and Tehran would continue to work towards reaching an agreement, pointing out that the Qatari mediators were continuing their close coordination with the two sides to support the course of the ongoing negotiations, warning at the same time that promoting these allegations exclusively served the parties seeking to prolong the war and destabilize the region.

For its part, the International Information Office in Qatar issued a statement representing the same position, in which it described the reports spread on social media sites as misleading and irrelevant to reality. The statement revealed that fake accounts are behind the publication of huge numbers of these allegations with the aim of thwarting diplomatic efforts and pushing towards further escalation, describing these practices as irresponsible behavior.

The statement concluded by reiterating the continuation of Qatari mediation efforts, stressing that the United States and Iran are still continuing their efforts to reach a settlement, within the framework of ongoing coordination between Doha and the two parties to support the existing negotiations.
