A fiery message from Mohamed Salah after the fall: Do not disappear in times of crisis

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, captain of the Turkish Trabzonspor team, issued a clear call to his teammates to unite and take responsibility, following the loss that the team suffered to its German guest, Freiburg, with an unanswered goal, on Thursday, in the third round of the European Conference League.

This defeat came to an end to Trabzonspor’s streak of consecutive victories, which continued in seven matches in various competitions, following an early goal scored by Lukas Kubler in the 14th minute of the match.

In statements after the match, Salah admitted to wasting scoring opportunities that could have changed the course of the match, saying: “Fabinho and I realize that we were not at our best tonight, and I had opportunities that I should have exploited.” The captain of the Egyptian national team stressed the importance of confronting failures in a collective spirit, adding: “This is football; you cannot hide when things go wrong, and we must stand together, especially on evenings like these.”

For his part, Trabzonspor’s technical director, Thomas Reis, admitted that his team conceded the goal of the match as a result of a simple individual error, praising at the same time the reaction of his team players and their performance in the second half, despite their inability to equalize.

With this result, the Turkish team’s balance froze at six points, falling to twelfth place, suffering its first defeat in the continental championship this season after two consecutive victories.

Trabzonspor seeks to restore the tone of victories and reconcile its fans when it faces Alanyaspor, next Sunday, in the Turkish League competitions, before entering the international break.
