British journalist Piers Morgan revealed the reaction of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of the Saudi Al-Nasr club, to the recent criticism directed at him by the former Manchester United coach, the Dutchman Erik ten Hag.
During the presentation of his program “Football Uncensored,” Morgan confirmed that he personally contacted Ronaldo to inquire about his opinion of his former coach’s statements, pointing out that the Portuguese star is dealing with the matter with complete disregard, considering that Ten Hag does not deserve to be answered or even talked about.
The Dutch coach had renewed his attack on Ronaldo, claiming that his technical level had declined in recent years and that he had lost the ability to provide the performance that marked the peak of his career, in addition to accusing him of not fully adhering to the physical requirements while they were at Old Trafford, citing the player’s failure to complete one of the exercises according to the specified program.
On the other hand, Morgan took over the defense of “The Don”, reviewing his numbers in his last full season with the “Red Devils”, where he scored 18 goals in the English Premier League and six goals in the Champions League, stressing that the veteran striker was able to continue to shine if he had the right circumstances.
It is noteworthy that the disputes between the two parties date back to the year 2022, following the tension in the relationship between them due to the player’s role and participation with the team, which culminated in the termination of Ronaldo’s contract by mutual consent in November of the same year, following the famous interview he conducted with Morgan in which he criticized Ten Hag and the management, before he landed in the Saudi League through the gate of Al-Nasr Club.
